How can counselling help?

Livewell Counselling Service offers a Child Therapy service to schools and children's centres in and around Chorley, Lancashire

For many people there comes a time in our lives when we are just unable to cope. This could be due to feeling depressed, anxious, isolated or sudden life changes. Perhaps experiences from your past are still troubling you today or worries about your future are preventing you from enjoying life.

Counselling gives people a chance to talk in confidence to a trained professional about problems or issues that are causing them concern or distress. People from all walks of life come to us with a range of problems. Some may be simply feeling ‘stuck’ and need help moving on. Others use counselling to help them cope with specific issues such as bereavement or mental health problems.

Sessions usually take place once a week. This provides a regular time and space for you to talk about your troubles and explore difficult feelings in a warm and safe environment. For some people just a few counselling sessions are needed, while others need a longer period of time.
